Tennis

Junior Tennis (Ages 7+)
“Learn to Play” instructional program at Westboro Tennis & Swim Club.  Three ability levels offered.  Student/Teacher ratio not more than 6-1.  For questions on level placement, contact Susie or Michael at 366-1222 at the club BEFORE coming in to register.  We are NOT responsible for placement errors.  Check with Club BEFORE you register.  Bring own racquet.  Some loaners available.  

5eginners:
Work on developing basic form, stroke mechanics and footwork.  Some mini-tennis rallying at a slow pace will also be included.  No prior experience needed.

Advanced Beginners:
Develop more consistency on shots, power and directional intent.  Will practice singles and doubles positioning and learn to play the game.  Some prior understanding of how to sustain a rally of slow to moderate pace from baseline.

Intermediates:
Learn how to use spin and power to improve game.    Should have prior understanding of basic positioning, be able to put 1st & 2nd serves into play, and get to the net using an approach shot, split step and volley.

Summer Tennis Camp
Ages 8 & up.  
For all tennis programs please bring your own racquet. Limited loaners raquettes may be available.  Fee includes t-shirt.  You may sign up for more than one class.   

BEGINNERS [level 1] will work on the fundamentals of tennis, groundstrokes, volleys, and serves through games and drills.  For the player with little or no experience on the court who wants to have a lot of fun trying something new.  We recommend all 8 yr olds start here.

INTERMEDIATES [level 2] will receive reinforcement of basic skills with emphasis on form on all strokes and court movement through drills and various games. For the player with some experience on the court & knowledge of the basic strokes.

ADVANCED [level 3]  will emphasize techniques of all strokes, consistency and footwork through games, match play, and drilling. For the player who has had experience on the court, has good working strokes, and has developed some consistency hitting the ball.
