WYFS Offers Free Online Depression Screening
Westborough Youth and Family Services is offering a free confidential online depression screening to Westborough residents now through the end of June. If you’ve been troubled by feelings of sadness, depression or anxiety or wonder if you are suffering from posttraumatic stress disorder, this free screening might give you the guidance you need in order to seek treatment.
This free, confidential screening is available through a grant from the Mass. Dept. of Public Health.
You Go Girl! Program is Coming to Westborough This Summer
The You Go Girl! Program is coming to Westborough. This successful program is for girls ages 11-14 and helps participants focus on issues such as self-esteem, body image, peer pressure and team building in a positive, fun-filled 
environment.
The program, sponsored by Partnership for Healthy Pathways (WYFS and Shrewsbury Youth & Family Services are members), will run July 23 - August 15, Mon-Thurs mornings 9:00am-12:00 noon.
The cost of the 4-week program is $150 (sliding fee scale & payment plan possible.)
Collection for Slightly-Worn Athletic Shoes
Westborough High students Sean and Kyle Vaccaro will be collecting slightly-worn athletic footwear, such as cleats for all sports and basketball sneakers, that Westborough Youth & Family Services will distribute to those in need, so that more kids can participate in town sports. Please make sure shoes are in good condition.
There is a drop off box at Roche Bros. on the way out the door, as well as at the Recreation Department located at the Town Hall, 34 West Main Street.
Shoes will be distributed by WYFS at the beginning of each sports season. Contact WYFS if interested in receiving shoes and to be notified of distribution times: 508.366.3090 or yfs@town.westborough.ma.us
Cummings School of Veterinary Medicine at Tufts University in North Grafton partners with Worcester Technical High School to offer a low-cost veterinary clinic. "As part of its mission, the clinic will make veterinary care significantly more affordable (to the tune of 75 percent less than the national standard) and accessible to a community that could use a bit of help."

Looking Forward to Those Hot Summer Nights
Although July and August are quite a ways off yet, we at WYFS are starting to think about summer activities and Hot Summer Nights. Hot Summer Nights (HSN) is a summer program run by WYFS that features weekly, structured, low-cost recreational activities for Westborough teens ages 10-16 during the summer break. In the past, activities have included basketball tournaments, day trips to Hampton Beach, movie nights and crafts workshops such as jewelry making

As we start the planning process, we’d like to hear from you about the kinds of activities you’d like to see included in this summer’s program. And we welcome adults interested in volunteering as an instructor for a particular craft, sport or activity.
