The 2012 Free Holiday Store
was a Great Success!
Sponsored by Westborough Youth & Family Services and the Rotary Club of Westborough
WYFS would like to thank everyone who helped ensure the holidays were brighter for over 70 Westborough families this year. The Free Holiday Store was open from Monday, Dec. 3 through Friday, Dec. 21 where we distributed 889 toys and gifts, 177 books and 161 hand-made hats/mittens.
Every gift donated is greatly appreciated because the Free Holiday Store is truly a community effort.
We also want to thank the Girl Scouts from Westborough Troops 30555 and 30635 and their leaders, Julie Baldwin, Eileen Nikopoulos and Nancy Wright who spent several hours on a Saturday decorating the Free Holiday Store and helping unpack the toys. The finished product was nothing short of an amazing winter wonderland.
The Girls Scouts are pictured at right. In the second photo, you can see the wonderful job they did decorating.
And thanks go to guidance counselor Karen Hong and her group of Mill Pond 6th graders who created a beautiful mural, on their own time, for the enjoyment of those visiting the Free Holiday Store. (See mural at right.)

We also want to thank our co-sponsors the Rotary Club of Westborough and particularly Gerry Gross whose support and hard work makes the Holiday Store possible. And thanks to the Westborough Fire Department, Westborough Library, Boston Sports Club, and the two Westborough Avidia Bank locations for once again displaying our toy collection boxes.
The photo on the left is the Christmas Tree at the Senior Center surrounded by all of the toys the generous senior community donated to the Free Holiday Store. Thank you all so much!
Finally, thank you to the Westborough residents, businesses and civic organizations for your generosity and well wishes during the holiday season. You have proved, once again that the spirit of the season is alive and well and thriving in our community.
