ARTICLE 8
Cemeteries
Section 1. The management and care of the cemeteries of the Town shall be entrusted to the Department of Public Works Manager.
Section 2. The proprietor or proprietors of any lot or lots in any of the cemeteries of the Town may bequeath to the Town, or deposit with the Town Treasurer, a sum of money in an amount to be determined by the Department of Public Works Manager for the purpose of providing for the perpetual care of such lot or lots.
Section 3. All monies deposited with the Town Treasurer or bequeathed to the Town for the perpetual care of any lot or lots shall be kept apart from other funds of the Town and shall be designated as the Cemetery Perpetual Care Fund, and shall be invested by the Treasurer in such securities as are legal investments for savings banks in the commonwealth, and the interest, or such part as is deemed necessary by the Department of Public Works Manager, shall be expended annually for the care of the lot or lots.
Section 4. The Department of Public Works Manager shall have power to make from time to time such rules and regulations for the management of the cemeteries of the Town as he may deem best, but no rule or regulation shall be made which is contrary to law or these Bylaws.
