Board of Appeals
Duties of Committee:
The Board of Appeals is made up of three (3) members and two (2) alternate members. The Board hears requests for Appeals; Variances; and Special Permits (Zoning Bylaws, Sections 1310, 1320, and 1330 / M.G.L. Ch. 40A). The Board also hears and makes decisions on requests for Comprehensive Permits (M.G.L. Ch. 40B). Decisions of the Board for each request must be filed with the Town Clerk within the prescribed time.
The Board meets an average of two (2) meetings a month mainly to conduct hearings. The number of meetings depends upon the workload and the deadlines of the petitions.
Meeting days and times:
The Board normally meets on Monday evenings at 7:30 p.m. in Room 24 of the Forbes Municipal Building.
